Apple recently received a lot of flak for intentionally slowing down older iPhone models citing battery depletion issues. As a remedial measure, the company introduced a battery replacement program to replace the depleted batteries with new units at significantly lower costs. Today, Apple’s prestige-salvaging initiative has gone live across the globe.
As the part of the program, new batteries for the affected iPhone models ( iPhone 6, 6S, SE, 7) will be available at just $29 in the United States, down from the usual $79 cost. On a similar note, upgrading iPhone batteries will now cost only ₹2,000 (excluding taxes) in India, which is significantly lower than usual ₹6,500 that Apple charges.
